Tomato-Basil Syrup
A savory syrup perfect for adding a unique twist to your cocktails.
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
Instructions:
Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan and heat until the sugar dissolves.
Add the chopped tomatoes and basil leaves, and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and let it steep for 1 hour.
Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible.
Let the syrup cool before using.
