New York Sour

New York Sour

A twist on the classic Whiskey Sour with a red wine float.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Bourbon or Rye whiskey
  • 3/4 oz Fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz Simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz Red wine (such as Shiraz or Cabernet Sauvignon)

Instructions:

  1. Fill a shaker with ice.
  2. Add the whiskey, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
  3. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and mix.
  4. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
  5. Carefully pour the red wine over the back of a spoon to float it on top of the drink.
